So did we say a prayer today ?

For who ? For ourselves. Did we do something, some ritual that affirmed our faith today ? In what ? In ourselves. Our ability to connect with our inner selves. For if we do not, who is this person that is working, loving, talking etc. It's certainly not you.

It's an everyday search for me. For that something that can put me in touch with myself. My connection to consciousness. My connection to loving nature.

Of course many people have faith. Which is a wonderful ability. I don't have blind faith. I am more of a searcher. Questioner. Good, bad ? I don't know. No value judgements on any faith or the question of faith. Or on myself.

Some people do it with meditation first thing in the morning. I have never been able to do that. I have to connect to something, however small, however little, to loose my sense of individuality. That's the daily struggle. Against my own exaggarated sense of myself. I am so used to it. I have relied on it for so many years. So tough to let go now. Not that I have never questioned it before. But now, it is really important for me to be truly 'active' rather than 'reactive', which is what I have done most of my life. And how do I know what that 'true' action is ? Unless I am constantly in touch with something larger, more immense, more universal than myself ?

Yes I know. By letting go. By allowing yourself not to be addicted to the result of your action. By allowing chaos to invade your life. Yes, I agree. All of that. I do allow chaos to prevade in my life. I am impeteous (spelling). But then the individual in me fights back hard.
It's an everyday battle. This battle to let go of one's addiction to one's sense of individuality.

Yet, the smallest of things can provoke the sensing of my flowing into something much much larger. Something infinite.

This morning it was my 5 year old daughter waking me up with a loud 'Peekaboo' and the tinkling of an early morning laugh.

Sometimes it;s just getting up early enough to watch the first shades of dark blue brush across the sky. Something deeply stirring about that.

Sometimes it's unexpected gestures of affection that were not sought. Or given so instinctually that you were not aware of them.

Sometimes, it's writing a poem. But only if the words are coming from somewhere else. As if something is flowing through you, a river of emotion you can physically feel that flows through your being.

But it is always so unexpected. So much that I am constantly aware now. My senses hightened. Waiting for that unexpected moment.

When something deeper will reach out and engulf me, and give my life, and all my actions, however small, a deeper and all encompassing context. On a daily basis.

So say a prayer for me. And for yourself.

Shekhar

Amen Shekhar,

There is an inherrent need in every human being for expansion. When people want a Bigger house, a Bigger car, a Bigger bank balance they are not really looking for these things. They are looking for expansion. There is a deep rooted need in us to expand. All of us are like drops of water wanting and waiting to mingle with the ocean.

Cheers!

How deep and thought fulfilling Shekharji...I hope you don't mind I sort of presented your words in poerty motion...co~incidentally, it was a "free flow thought."

To think, just this morning I was wondering if you had children, thank you for the answer :)

Sending you and your family loving prayers for finding a place of free flow.

I believe, I know these steps you travel. One of my learned friends told me that it is an art of walking the two paths at once...and it takes lots and lots of practice, unless the vision of clarity has be bestowed upon One by an Enlightened Being.

I am with you in prayer...namaste,

Cinda

Dear Shekharji...little by little, the battle will dissolve. Each day, as we remind ourselves and replace react with "act" then the choice of flow and making room for light begins. I know all too often, and this goes without a doubt...whenever I react a landslide will follow, I smile and tell myself it was the choice I made that got me that result. This is how it started off. Now, I am in a place where I tell myself, what has happened ~ happened for a purpose and there is a continuing journey that will eventually reveal what is to come. I do my best to "act" it is so much more fulfilling, especially when working in a Kindergarten class with lots and lots of 4,5,and 6 year olds. IT'S QUITE THE ADVENTURE!
Simple example of understanding...when a child spills something and we get angry with them for doing so, most likely we are mirroring what had been done to us in the past. If we were to step back and understand from a child's point of view, they are now learning how to balance, coordinate and move in their space, yet we as adults most would get upset or angry with them for spilling. However, if we were to spill the same thing in the same way, most likely, no one would yell at us! and we supposedly have had more time to learn balancing, coordianting and moving around in our own spaces. How silly of us!
This is just a small example of our lack of UNDERSTANDING and paying more attention to the needs of a situation. I feel it goes back to a sense of knowing one's self and being in touch with the quietness of the flow of energy within that connects witht the energy externally.

Like you, I have also had many moments of connectedness with passing situations, a flicker of light shining off the lake, a breeze that caresses your face like a gentle kiss, and Ahahaha...this morning, my five year old son didn't want to get up for school, I took off the blanket and folded it and left the room. I returned later to find him curled up in a ball inside the pillow sack. He took out the pillow and climbed into the sack to keep warm...it was sooooo funny, we both burst out in laughter when I pulled him across the bed while he was still in there!

Anyway, that's my 2 cents for now...nice talking to you.
Oh, I just have to add one more thing, my 17 year old daughter, last year in high school, in English class...they were watching "Elizabeth" your movie. When she told me, I laughed...why? Because lately, she's asking me why am I talking so much about you...I tell her you are on Deepak's Blog site and how interesting your stories are! When I told her that you are the director of Elizabeth, she said..."No he's not" and I said "Yes he is" we kept on doing this, until I said I will show her on the website. When we got home TaDa! there it was...She says OH!

...and so the connectedness continues,

something to share...

"I like to walk alone on country paths, rice plants and wild grasses on both sides, putting each foot down on the earth in mindfulness, knowing that I walk on the wondrous earth. In such moments, existence is a miraculous and mysterious reality.

People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child--our own two eyes. All is a miracle.

-Thich Nhat Hanh, "Miracle of Mindfulness"

...it somehow reminded me of you, Shekharji!

On some days, I remind myself to look at the sky just for once that day, and sadly, more often than not... i forget!

Wishing you a Merry Christ-mas in advance Shekhar

Living in absurdity is the highest level of consciousnesses. Because going beyond that a human has no end to discover being. What is being …but existence? What is existence.but living as all beings do…are all beings equal. Some beings think they are more equal then others, who is the judge…creator. Is the judge right.. First of all do all beings agree on the same creator to be the judge? Who knows………therefore live life like all other beings on this universe without assuming humans as the most superior beings otherwise one day you will become the underdogs

Dear Shekhar and Family,
This is to wish you a beautiful and peacefilled New Year.
May you find happiness and contentment in the coming year.

A prayer of "Thanks" for my sister and her four kids finally finding a place they can call home. The past year has been most difficult and painful for all of them, and we shared in this journey. From emotional and mental torture to a shelter to a noisy intrusive basement apartment...and finally now, a place they can call home.
...Thank you God. Cinda

I am thankful for this day...in continued prayers for my son to get well.

I give thanks for the family I have, that we are able to sit around the table and ENJOY conversation about each others experiences...in laughter and sorrow, respecting opinions and thoughts that differ from our own.

I give thanks for this breath that comes and goes to all living and non living entities...sharing itself, equally without giving uneven importance to any.

I feel gratitude for the successful "move" of my sister and her four kids into their new home.
Sending them love and prayers for peace, happiness and safety.

This blog (prayer) expresses my sense of the divine, which you articulated eloquently and beautifully!

I stumbled upon your website by chance a couple of days ago - a day when I was feeling very low spirited. I was at work and someone who had lived in Italy was talking about a funny Italian ad. I asked if he remembered an ad campaign for an ice cream that was based on the Seven Deadly Sins. As often happens with me when I try to tell a joke or describe something, I forgot most of the details - I couldn't remember the name of the ice cream, and referred to you as "that director who made the film on Queen Elizabeth that starred [Gwyenth Palttrow]". I wanted to remember your name, and did a google search for "Elizabeth" and found your blog. Incidentally, my high school year book quote was "Loose your dreams and you will loose your mind." (Rolling Stones.)

There is such generosity in sharing your thoughts.

I forwarded your blog to an actor I know who was in the Italian Ice Cream Ad campaign you directed. Years ago, when I asked him what he thought a good title would be for an article, he quickly responded: Expanding Minds are Happening.

hello Luci, not sure if you are still checking, but which actor are you reffering to ? Shekhar

So did we say a prayer today ?
Prayer.
God has created us for a living and LOVING relationship with him.
The relationship is more or less like the one which lovers SHARE.
waiting and wanting for the LOVE and the lover.
Time intensive.
Yet will not make one dry at the end of the wait.
Neither one feels drained out of energy at the end of time spent together.

"I ought to pray before seeing any one. Often when I sleep long, or meet with others early, it is eleven or twelve o'clock before I begin secret prayer. This is a wretched system. It is unscriptural. Christ arose before day and went into a solitary place. David says: 'Early will I seek thee'; 'Thou shalt early hear my voice.' Family prayer loses much of its power and sweetness, and I can do no good to those who come to seek from me. The conscience feels guilty, the soul unfed, the lamp not trimmed. Then when in secret prayer the soul is often out of tune, I feel it is far better to begin with God -- to see his face first, to get my soul near him before it is near another." - Robert Murray McCheyne

for this day, thank you.

A prayer of awareness...a long time ago, something happened, a sacred thread was spun from the far reaches of this universe. It came to earth and was planted as a seed in the soil of thoughts and deeds, words followed to help them become expressed among pages in trees...telling of such stories of slavery and freedom...and of a man who walked on water. Both stories blossomed to its fullest beauty when truth and peace finally came to pass within the spaces of each word written.

The Breath of St. Farncis

As the almond tree touched by the
breath of Saint Francis...

I lie in your embrace.

"Speak to me of God..." He whispered to
the tree.

The tree spoke in flowers that

"Speak to me of God..."

Your fingers whispers as the
breath of Saint Francis.

And in the depth of a winter that
parts only to your touch...

I do.

...for the opportunity and experience of playing drums (tassa)again, this time, along side my brother Richard and his sons...on the eve of our Dad's B-Day. Even though he was not there in person, he was there IN SPIRIT. Another drummer walked up to me after our first session and commented on how I held my sticks..."You hold your sticks exactly like your Dad" he said, for me, this was the highest honour (since my Dad passed on). I replied, it must of been him holding it...and laughed:)
What this man didn't know was that almost every time I practiced with my Dad, he would always tell me about how I held the sticks and how I needed to relax and not hold it so tight.

My Dad was there! and I enjoyed every moment.

My Dad, today, April 15, he would have been 82. Happy Birthday, love you!

Lines

I am no more than subtle lines
drawn real beneath your
fingers.

I am formless.

Given form to know the grace of
your caress.

Far in the night...your eyes hold stars in

From distant points of light they
gather to your gaze.

There is nothing that does
not become for you.

We Light The Temple Flames

The walls belong only
to the night -

Our music is the wind.

There is a hush, as it plays low
against the trees...passing through us
as we offer no resistance.

This is our communion.

We pray silence.

There is nothing to be said...it has all been
spoken of by the night, by the wind, by the grace
of our stillness.

Yet there is one last act.

We lay ourselves bare to the alter of one another.

This is our sacrifice to the night.

And with our touch...we light the temple flames.

Dear Friends,
Here's sharing with you the update for our Peace Climbers...

"World History – Palestinian and Israelis – Together, on Everest Summit Push, Now!
May 14, 2006

Today, May 14th, The Everest Peace Project team has left advanced base camp (21,000 feet) to begin its history-making summit push. The summit team consists of: Ali Bushnaq, David (Dudu) Yifrah, Micha Yaniv, Selebelo Selamolela, Tonya Riggs, Jamie McGuinness and Brad Clement. Gautam Patil will leave tomorrow and Lance Trumbull is staying back as advanced base camp manager who will manage all communication with the team and the outside world.

Never before has there been such a diverse Everest team consisting of people from different faiths and cultures – especially including Palestinian and Israeli men; our intention is to promote peace and teamwork and to “unite the world on top of the world”.

Tonight our peace climbers will stay at the North Col 7000 meters (23,000 feet). Tomorrow, there will be a rest day and they will again acclimatize and stay at the North Col. On May 16th, they will go to Camp two 7600 meters (25,000 feet); on May 17th they will be at camp three 8300 meters (27,000 feet). May 18th will hopefully be our summit day (depending on the weather).

We will have more updates on our peace climber’s progress.

More soon…

And, please let me know the exact time you read this. It is mystical--

This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and He asked: "My child, what is your greatest wish for today?"

I responded: "Lord please; take care of the person who is reading this message, their family and their special friends. They deserve it and I love them very much."

The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its beginnings but Not its end.

This message works on the day you receive it. To some it may sound dumb, but the person who sent this to me was impressed with its timing. Let us see if it is true.

ANGELS EXIST, but sometimes, since they don't all have wings we call them FRIENDS, SUCH AS YOU. Pass this on to your true friends. SOMETHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TODAY AT 11:11 IN THE EVENING. SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE; SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU BY PHONE OR WILL SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE WAITING TO HEAR. DO NOT BREAK THIS CHAIN. SEND IT TO A MINIMUM OF 4 PEOPLE.

Climbers Safely at Camp Three – 8300 meters (27,000 feet) – SUMMIT ATTEMPT TONIGHT!!!
May 17th, 2006
8300m
Hi Everyone,

Our Peace Climbers are now safely at camp three. All climbers arrived by 5pm Nepal time. Right now everyone is boiling water to put in their Nalgene bottles so they can drink on the way up to the summit and on the way down to camp two (staying hydrated is critical). Each climber should have two – 1 liter bottles in which they will put inside their down suit so they do not freeze. Our Peace Climbers are also in the process of making themselves a light meal (although probably no one has an appetite) and hopefully getting three or four hours of sleep before they leave for the summit.

The summit push should begin by 11pm – with everyone on their way by midnight.

If all goes well and the weather is good and the winds are light – our team could start summiting Mt. Everest by 8am Nepal time on May 18th. After they summit, the climbers will return to camp 2 - spending the night there and then the following day return back to ABC, where I will give them a heroes welcome!

I will be sleeping in our communications tent tonight standing by the radio all night – following our Peace Climbers progress and providing any moral support via the radio if needed.

Please send our Peace Climbers your good thoughts and prayers as they attempt to summit the tallest mountain in the world.

I will update the website as soon as I hear news from them.

Moses is teaching us that if we want our thoughts and feelings to have impact and to be expressed from the Light rather than darkness, we need to take a breath and walk away. It's not always the solution, but trust me, for the time period we are in now it is the only solution.

This week we are entering the month of Leo and we are still in the negative 3 weeks (the most challenging of the year). Emotionally we are walking on landmines. It's no wonder that the current situation in the Middle East is what it is. Unfortunately, when tensions are high and lives are at stake, we don't always have the luxury of taking a breath and walking away. World leaders can't say, "You know what, I am coming from a place of ego right now, can we talk about this later?" That is something that does not exist in politics.

But we do have that option. Let us use Moses as an example. He waited 40 years to speak his mind to the Israelites, the least we could do is wait 40 seconds or 40 minutes or 40 hours. Whatever you do, don't blast the people in front of you because, for sure, this week it's going to come from the wrong place. And the potential damage is far greater than the temporary satisfaction you'll feel.

The red flag to watch out for is when your reaction comes instantly and with irritation. For sure, it is coming from darkness and not from Light.

My father and teacher Rav Berg once said, "The greatest desire to receive is, `I want it now.' This urgency and impatience is a total denial of the laws of cause and effect." This means in those situations when we want to rip into another person and give them a world of pain, we have to remember that the universe is much more precise in giving us what we deserve. We don't have to be responsible for doling out punishments for other people's actions.

This lesson is especially poignant this week when so much is laying in the balance as far as the world is concerned. If we exercise this form of restriction in our own lives, then the people of the world will find themselves more patient because as the kabbalists teach, our actions have a quantum impact on the universe.

I urge everyone to keep scanning at 3 p.m. (according to your local time zone), and know that you are contributing to revealing Light in the Middle East.

All the best,

for the ones who hurt and suffer...let there be hope and renewed faith, healing and peace...

No one gets it. No one gets it.

My mother and teacher Karen Berg revealed the true secret for securing a lasting and genuine peace in the Middle East. Only when an Israeli mother cries out in pain over the suffering and deaths of Arab children, and an Arab mother cries out in pain over the suffering and deaths of Israeli children, will there be true peace.

Kabbalists are not pro-Israel, pro-Zionist, pro-Arab. Kabbalists are pro-humanity, pro-human soul, pro-God's children. This includes Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists and all people who populate this planet.

Until we learn to cry tears for others only, nothing will change.

The teachings and tools of Kabbalah help us eradicate and destroy the self-centered aspect of our being that only allows us to cry for ourselves, both individually and as a particular people of specific faith. When we remove that destructive selfish part, we will have the ability to cry over the pain of our individual neighbors and other nations. With everyone concerned for one another, the hatred and conflict will cease. Paradise will be ours forever.

But no one gets it. The result? Wars and bloodshed for 2000 years.

Sometimes we win battles. Sometimes we lose battles. In both cases, the blood keeps flowing and the tears keep shedding. The idea is to win the war. And the only war is the war on one's own ego and self-interest.

Please pass this around instead of anything that only serves the interest of one people. Not because of morals. Or ethics. But because that approach has failed for 2000 years.

We are working very hard to get Zohars into Lebanon and Syria, with some success, but by no means have we done enough. If you or anyone you know is in Lebanon or Syria and would like a Zohar, or if you or someone you know can help us bring Zohars into these areas so desperate for these tools for change, please email me. With this Light we will triumph in the war against darkness.

Namaste Shekhar,
Even when I am not able to post here everyday, I still think of it. You have inspired me beyond words, and since there is no way of conveying such deep felt sentiments {{{warm hug to you}}} dear friend.

This day, I am praying for "An Inconvenient Truth" to reach the roots of this earth and plant itself in such a way, that the humans of destruction shall be inspired to change for the betterment of "all kind", that the seeds of this docudrama find its way into the hearts and souls of all of us to "act" in a way that will create a peaceful path.
May we do as we would have for ourselves.

Dear Shekharji,

Namaste!

For me praying is the form of thanks giving to almighty god! Praying becomes a part of your breath. Where ever i go my inhalation and exhalation are in the rythem of praying to god.
Don't you feel that god is a great director and recognizes very efficiently whom to allot which and what role in the drama of 'living' to be played on the stage of this 'life'.

The only thing required is a clear and honest heart and the two inward opening eyes to feel the true inner self. THE VISION WILL BE CLEAR AND THE PICTURE AND SCENE IN FRONT VERY VERY CLEAR.

The Celestine Insights...

THE ELEVENTH INSIGHT . . . EXTENDING PRAYER FIELDS
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

We do have something to celebrate!!!

Celebrated on 8 March, International Women's Day (IWD) is the global day connecting all women around the world and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. IWD celebrates the collective power of women past, present and future.

2007 marks the 30th anniversary of International Women's Day. Established in 1977 by the United Nations, this important day provides an opportunity to celebrate the progress made to advance women's rights and to assess the challenges that remain. International Women's Day (IWD) encourages us to consider steps to bring about equality for women and girls in all their diversity and to celebrate the collective power of women past, present and future

Happy International Women's Day!!!

Household "tip" for the day, shared by a friend.

"The heating unit went out in my dryer.

The guy that fixes things went in to the dryer pulled out the lint filter. It was clean. We always clean the lint from the filter after every load of clothes.

He told us that he wanted to show us something. He took the filter over to the sink, ran hot water over it.

Now, the lint filter is made of a mesh material - I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like.

WELL...the hot water just sat on top of the mesh!!! It didn't go through it at all!!!

He told us that dryer sheets cause a film over that mesh that's what burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the film, but it's there.

This is also what causes dryer units to catch fire & potentially burn your house down with it!

He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very long time & to keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out & wash it with hot soapy water & an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months.

He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long!

How about that???!!!! Learn something new everyday!

I certainly didn't know dryer sheets would do that. So, I thought I'd share!

Note: I went to my dryer & tested my screen by running water on it.

The water ran thru a little bit but mostly collected all the water in the mesh screen

I washed it with warm soapy water & a nylon brush & I had

It done in 30 seconds. Then when I rinsed it the water ran right thru the screen! There wasn't any piddling at all! That repairman knew what he was talking about! "

Einstein's Birthday today, one of human's most unique thinkers of the 20th century

Hōnen Matsuri (豊年祭, Hōnen Matsuri?) (Japanese for Harvest Festival) is a fertility festival celebrated every year on March 15 in Japan. The most well-known of these festivals takes place in the town of Komaki, just north of Nagoya City. Hōnen means rich harvest in Japanese, while a matsuri is a festival or holiday. The Hōnen festival and ceremony celebrate the blessings of a bountiful harvest and all manner of prosperity and fertility.

On Pesach, God comes to the matzah and injects it with Light. When the Creator comes to us at the Seder and we have a desire for this transformation, it will be there for us. But if we don’t have the desire to leave everything we were before Pesach, we will relinquish that opportunity.

In the days before Pesach, let us ignite the desire to leave everything behind us and inject the Light of the Tree of Life.

Chag Sameach (Happy Holiday)!

With Love, Light, and Certainty,
